Asat programs

Much of the teaching is done in settings in the community, but participants also receive instruction in classrooms located in the Bershaw-Boswell Community Center on campus. A fundamental goal of the ASAT program is to help our adults prepare for careers and college. Our approach is highly individualized. For some students, the college environment will offer the opportunity to sample classes and perhaps matriculate; for others, exposure to vocational opportunities may be a priority.

Some adults come to Chapel Haven with some degree of college already completed. Our location in a college town supports many choices in the area of college, vocational and professional studies.

Working closely with staff, students may register for and begin attending local colleges, with tailored support in the areas of executive functioning, planning and time management. Polukhin, Lead Designer - E. The development of the launch vehicle and the booster-shunting unit was carried out by NPO Mashinostroeniya. The development of the satellite interceptor was carried out by the Design Bureau of Engineering Kolomna.

The prototype satellite-interceptor system "Outfit" was demonstrated by M. Gorbachev during his visit to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in May The program was allegedly discontinued in the early s. In , the Space Troops Commander Oleg Ostapenko, who later headed the Russian space agency, said that Russia again took up the development of "inspection" satellites. On 25 December a Rockot booster lifted off from the Plesetsk launch site carrying a trio of Rodnik communications satellites, to replenish the constellation which had been operational since The previous six launches had carried a three Rodnik satellites, but this launch carried four - Kosmos, , and For several weeks the object cataloged as E [and by NORAD] manuevered towards other Russian space objects, culminating in November when it rendezvoused with the upper stage that had placed it in orbit.

In February , U. This satellite known as Cosmos , but often informally called Object E, was launched in - together with three communications satellites on the Rokot launch vehicle. The maneuvering of the Object E satellite was covered in a secret space threat briefing for Congressional Defense Committees. Cosmos, which was launched along with three communication satellites [Gonets-M series], the Rokot launch vehicle from the Russian Plesetsk cosmodrome [March 31, ]. According to a spokesman for the US Air Force, the Russian military satellite Cosmos, launched in March , made at least 11 maneuvers in space rendezvous with the upper stage, which put it into orbit.

Russia launched a "small space apparatus" from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in June to be used for "examining the condition of a Russian satellite," the Russian Ministry of Defense announced in August The ministry clarified in October that the satellite had been coupled to a larger satellite, Kosmos; it then conducted tests of "controlling the maneuvering defense satellite, ground, and orbital communication systems," and "methods involving ballistic estimates and new software were employed," before the smaller satellite returned to Kosmos The space forces proved their ability to ensure the satellite's automatic undocking from the platform, the remote control of its flight, and the activation of the satellite payload, including surveillance hardware, data transfer to Earth and data processing," the statement, published in Izvestiya, said.

Battlefield monitor and control, information communications, navigation and position guidance all rely on satellites and other sensors.

Under the Program, the space and missile industry's Second Academy, traditionally responsible for SAM development, set out to field a viable antimissile system, consisting of a kinetic kill vehicle, high powered laser, space early warning, and target discrimination system components. This program was abandoned in PLA-affiliated publications long asserted that while China did not yet possess the capability to destroy satellites with high-powered lasers, they are capable of damaging optical reconnaissance satellites.

The Report to Congress "Future Military Capabilities and Strategy of the People's Republic of China", states "China already may possess the capability to damage, under specific conditions, optical sensors on satellites that are very vulnerable to damage by lasers. However, given China's current interest in laser technology, it is reasonable to assume that Beijing would develop a weapon that could destroy satellites in the future. China is said to be acquiring a variety of foreign technologies, which could be used to develop an anti-satellite ASAT capability.

Beijing already may have acquired technical assistance which could be applied to the development of laser radars used to track and image satellites and may be seeking an advanced radar system with the capability to track satellites in low earth orbit. In addition, China already may possess the capability to damage, under specific conditions, optical sensors on satellites that are very vulnerable to damage by lasers. Beijing also may have acquired high-energy laser equipment and technical assistance, which probably could be used in the development of ground-based ASAT weapons.

Given China's level of interest in laser technology, Beijing probably could develop a weapon that could destroy satellites in the future.

Young adults with Asperger Syndrome and high functioning autism have differing strengths and skills and we would never assume that we know you better than you know yourself. To meet your individual needs more effectively, we have developed a flexible a-la-carte selection of workshops that focus on overcoming specific challenges. This allows you to build the program that best suits you.

ASAT program modules are taught in classrooms but practiced in real world group settings. This unique combination means that lessons learned are fully integrated into your life. Social communication is the umbrella focus of all that we teach and takes place in all settings by experienced speech-language pathologists. You can also choose additional one-on-one coaching and supports that assist with key moments of transition to adult independence and help you to navigate some of the tougher moments of home, work or college life.

ASAT is one of the only programs in the country to focus on transitioning adults into independence , regardless of the age at which they come to us. The world renowned Yale Child Study Center assists with ongoing program evaluation and data collection to help us to constantly refine and measure our approach.
